He was shot in order to prevent him from hurting a child that fell in his enclosure. Some people say they could have tranquilized him, but tranquilizers take time to work, and the shock of being essentially shot with a needle could have cause him to go berserk and kill the child.

I really wish people would stop making his death such a joke. It was terrible such an innocent life was killed all because a dumb bitch couldn't watch her kid, and zoos who care only for money made it so easy for a child to get into the enclosure.
His death should be seen as more proof why zoos are not good places for animals to be kept. It could have been so easily avoided. And with gorillas on the endangered list, it makes it even worse.

Sadly, that's usually the case. I mean, think of all the victims of police shootings. No one knew their names until they died.
I just wish zoos, animal agriculture, and all that evil stuff would go away and people stop making fun of death and the victims. Would they think it funny if they had been horribly killed or killed for no reason, and then people mocked them for dying or say things that they "wanted" to die? No. And we shouldn't do that to other living beings. Respect and love everyone, go vegan, and just, don't be a dick. Why is it so hard for people to be nice to everyone?
We could learn so much from non-human animals. My dog and cats don't blindly hate anyone. If everyone was like that, this world would be so much better.

You wanna k I'd why people are making fun of it all. It's reactions like this. People stormed the internet expressing there sarow over a zoo animal. This is just a good pardody of some of the insane reactions people had. I'm against animal cruelty and recognize this as a unfortunate accident. But even though it's sad he died, unless you raised the damn thing, you don't get to morn over him like you would another person. You have a point when it comes to people only caring about victims after they hear about a police shooting them, but I feel it's a insult to a person that youd be just as angry over a gorrila getting shot.
I'm not saying your opinions aren't justifiable, I'm just laying out why I think this meme exists.
Hay maybe this I just for the best, now no one will forget about Harmabe, and some part of animal conservation will be in the back if they're mind's.

You obviously are not against animal cruelty when you are getting mad at people for showing why it's cruel and sad. YOu don't have to be the mother of someone to cry over their death. Humans are animals. ALL life is equal. So yes, a human and gorilla dying are equally tragic.
People making his death a joke is not helping conservation. Its just making it seem normal and funny that an innocent life is taken. Zoos need to be shut down for they are incredibly cruel, but the way people are treating Harambre's murder is that it's perfectly fine for zoos to kill their animals and the negligent mother isn't the one being punished for being a useless piece-of-shit and ignoring her child. Even taking him to a zoos is poor parenting.

And people call me "crazy" for being vegan and being part of the change for GOOD while they keep destroying it by eating animals, fighting wars, and being discriminating shitheads... The world is so fucked up that scientists are saying that if humans continue fishing at the rate they are the oceans will be empty by 2048. And once the oceans are empty plankton will die. Plankton supply 70% of the world's oxygen. You can do the math what happens to the rest of us then.
And animal agriculture causes 51% of all the world's pollution. If it continues, well, climate change will happen very soon and we all die, again. But, stupid humans want to pretend they are omnivores and eat dead rotten flesh, breast milk, and menstrual cycles despite it being the cause of climate change, deforestation, species extinction, and in-numerous illnesses to humans. But, yeah, ignore the healthy vegans who don't get heart attacks or any of those diseases, are perfectly healthy, and don't have blood on our hands. Yeah, WE'RE the "nutjobs...."
