This is wonderful, excellently composed and the colours are flawless. I didn't know those shades of blue existed! They're gorgeous. The way the streams dance in the glass is brilliant, and the lighting and exposure are perfect. Beautiful work

Interesting shot! How did you do this?
The lighting is pretty much spot on, good work!

I thought I just replied to this message. God knows where I posted that then - probably someone confused right now or ill post the same answer twice . Aaaaanyway.

Cheers It was ink in a wine glass. Many shots and many times resetting the glass and water. The white background is A4 printer paper. 'Natural light' because I havnt got an external flash. Well that took some of the glamour away didnt it Levels on PS helped get the white balance spot on.

Cheers Was basically playing about with ink in a wine glass. Many, many shots and resetting the glass. Natural lighting because my flash isnt good enough and white printer papaer for the background. Takes the glamour away a bit

I love the random swirlies, always sit there fascinated ... when milk pours into the dark coffee.
I quite like the off-center placement of the glass, lol and you edited out the orangey-colour smudges off of the top of the glass... nais.

...but you forgot to put the copyright info in there...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RYAN99 In reply to YelZamor [2005-01-03 19:52:22 +0000 UTC]

Cheers The orange was on the other shot though - so I ended up chopping them off the top after having edited them . I couldn't be bothered with the copyright - I figured if someones going to steal it, then it doesnt take a genius to paint over something. Only real way is to put it on a part with important detail and I didnt want to ruin the photo. (In fact I put it on, then took it off again cos I wanted the white to be pure )

YelZamor In reply to RYAN99 [2005-01-04 09:41:22 +0000 UTC]

Yah, lol valid points... but... here's something you might find useful: [link] . Or, 'how to embed a message of subliminal suggestion'.
I, so far, haven't been able to make it work, apart from making my image slightly darker ...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RYAN99 In reply to YelZamor [2005-01-04 10:55:50 +0000 UTC]

Cheer, but yeah theres normally an icky side effect - makes the image look slightly different or just takes too much time If I was selling prints i'd rethink. DA should just disable right click on their images so people cant 'save as' or 'copy'. Then you just make sure someone hasnt got an uber screen so they can 'print screen'.

YelZamor In reply to RYAN99 [2005-01-05 10:29:29 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, well... big-ass sites such as imdb do this clever lil' thing.

You see an image you like. Save it using the right-click, etc. BUT when you go check it in a day or so, you got a filename you vaguely remember and an image that is basically a blank file... so you've saved it, but you're getting nothing for free, literally... By the time you check, you've forgotten, what the hell it was that you were saving...

Very nice. I love playing with dye. I love the use of white space, it makes the blue stand out!

RYAN99 In reply to StareDecisis [2005-01-03 12:51:16 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. ( It's ink, but close enough ). Glad you like the white space. As I said, I played for ages with the borders with this and ( [link] ) - all white approach seemed to keep it more pure. Glad you like it again.
