Description "He stood gazing with admiration at those bright eyes, those locks curled like the locks of Dionysos or Apollo, the rounded cheeks, the ivory neck, the parted lips, and the glow of health and exercise over all. He fell in love with himself"

Hmm I see... Does the photo have post-treatment? The sky is almost black in the top, it like it is being watch from space...and the colors and the distinctness of the phto is great. I mean...hoe can you take such photo?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

RYAN99 In reply to riddlen [2005-09-15 22:24:18 +0000 UTC]

This is an infrared photo (which increases the intensity of the sky and water, and makes foliage white) I blended that with a non-infrared photo of exactly the same scene to add some colour.

this one is probably my favorite of the boat pics because of the description and concept behind it as well as I love the color scheme here the most, it's so blue:0

Glad you agree - thats why I submitted this one last, so it showed on my front page for longer The other two are nice and all - but the concepts are empty. Cant go wrong with blue Thanks alot

YelZamor [2005-09-01 18:59:42 +0000 UTC]

Hey! I can see it, it makes perfect sense...

What's exactly involved in the 'infrared' isn't it to do with infrared light/heat signatures and stuff?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

RYAN99 In reply to YelZamor [2005-09-01 21:56:42 +0000 UTC]

Its just a different wavelength of light, ...like x-rays and UV. IR can be heat... but this photography isnt fully infrared (just near infrared) and only lets through a certain wavelength of IR light. Basically I just stick a filter on the front of my lens which blocks out other light and use a really long exposure though. The effect is deep skies and water and white foliage.

Good shot. where was it taken?
i like the reflections and the blue colours.

(i don't like the signature there, but i understant, we have to protect our work!)

congrats,

Thank you kindly. It was taken in Whitstable, England. I know what you mean about the signature... its always really hard to prevent it from effecting the balance of the photo (sorry)
