It got even cuter, when you pet him.
He started to repay the favor by licking your hands with his little, tickling tongue.

Well... his brother gained more weight, than he should.
But they nearly starved, when they were young, so I think, that he had an eating disorder.
He was hording food like a dragon would hord gold.

Nonetheless they got more treats than they should (those cute, begging eyes).

He was one of my best rats I've had.
I still miss him, but I think I'm ready now for new little critters.

No. He died of pneumonia in old age
Like his brother a month later. But I'm thankful for the time I could spent with those little critters and will definitely get some new rats when I've moved.

Definitely. I had 5 rats at start, those two were the ones who always wanted to cuddle^^
And even despite the fact, that the others weren't so much into cuddling, I liked them too.
It is just heartwarming to see how they clean eachother with their little tongues and hands.

Für den Teddyblick habe ich ihn und seinen Bruder erstmal eine Woche gefüttert und gestriegelt.
Vorher sah er eher wie ein halb verhungertes Kleinkind aus Somalia aus.
Viel zu kleiner "Käfig" und nur Haut und Knochen.

ach gottchen, ratten in nem hamsterknast zu halten ist mehr als nur unmenschlich... mein emile hatte, als ich ihn bekommen hab, angst vor händen. auf der schulter war er ganz lieb, aber wehe man hat ihn mit ner hand angefasst... da ist die riesige ratte wie ein häufchen elend zusammengeschrumpelt. ich bin froh zu hören, dass die beiden bei dir ein schöneres leben führen dürfen ^^

Da war er noch gaaaaanz klein.
Jetzt ist er ein Stück größer, aber das niedliche Gesicht hat er noch.
Und er ist jetzt schwarz und nichtmehr so graubraun.
