My sources of inspiration! Lately I've been so busy that I haven't been able to draw anything, when I had the time I wasn't in the mood and when I was in the mood I didn't have time I'm amazed that I managed to finish this one! But I'm extremelly proud of it ;___; I love it to pieces... One of my fave works so far! I hate bikes though, they are a pain in the ass to draw... Hope you can bear with it xD
These are my OCs Haru (the guy) and Midori (the girl). They are the Spring Equinoxes! I wanted it to feel like a memory, a dream of a distant past in which Midori was happy and full of life... That's why Haru's eyes are hidden, because in dreams it's hard to visualize other people's face clearly... And Midori hasn't seen Haru for so long that his face is fading from her dreams...

This is a beautiful piece. I like how (far as i can tell)the ocean in the background is detailed. The colors of the sky and clouds bring an an emotional warmth to the viewer as well as complement the two characters Midori and Haru. The shading is exceptional as well as their expressions. I'm very impressed with how you made the bike handles they came out very nice.
My problems: I Agree with the other two critiques in how Haru's expression seems off. I find it very creative in how you decided not to show his eyes because of her fading memories of him however(in my opinion and it's only a suggestion)this took away from the possible expresion that could have been given off by his eyes(however this did not take much anything away from the overall picture). I believe it would have looked more natural if his mouth wasn't as open or perhaps it could have been a toothy smile.

This picture has two major qualities to it. It's visuals and it's message.
The Visuals.
The visuals give off a soft, bright look that gives off that dream look you were striving for. The people are more greatly outlined than the sky and kites which make the people the main focus. I love how the sunset colors drift into the white clothes of the girl and boy. The boy also has more bluish tones and the girl more purplish tones that also gives off that dream like aroma. The kites are also not given much emphasis but more as something you have to find when you really look into the picture which is something the viewer should have to do in order to see the message the picture tells. Overall, I have only good things to say about the visuals.
The Message.
More impacting than the visuals is the message. The girl dreams of seeing her lover again, for so long the memory of what he looks like is fading. That no matter how long time goes, she will never move on. He will always be apart of her. This picture really demonstrates her emotions well. How she is so happy to reunite with him in this dream but is sad that she will soon wake up and he will not be there anymore. The sunset setting also brings in how everything comes to an end and also shows the passing of time. How the sunlight in her life (the boy) is fading away. It also says it about the end of the day in dream world meaning reality is coming soon. Another thing to add is her face. How in bliss it is. But pain can be seen in it too. And the boy is oblivious to her pain. He is just happy to be there with her. It truly shows the pain of waiting and the bliss of loving someone.

Good stuff
-This is very well coloured and it has a neat outline.
-Boy i bet those bike handles were hard...
-The use of blue in the shading ads a nice effect to the piece.
-It gives feelings of happiness and freedom to the viewer (i feel lighter..)
-The clouds are detailed but not so detailed that they distract from the image.
-The clothing is creased beautifly
-The hair looks like its growing out of the head not squished close to it. (its great.)
- the light and colours work in balance with each over
Possible improvements
- The spool (The thing the string is coming from.) could be outlined a little smoother and mabie have a dip in the middle.
-the string round the spool (^^^) could cluster more around the middle or in some more natural way.
-MABIE, just mabie you might want to let the bottom of the guys shirt flow a little bit.
-Also the thing about the expression which the other critiquer said i would agree with that.
I think to help with things like this its best to is to google some reference and practice before adding the item to the actual picture
Overall i think this a really uplifting piece and if full of great energy and movement.

I love the energy and movement in this piece. It really captures that sense of freedom. It might be even more dramatic if the girl's back were curved but if it were she might fell off lol. About the expressions though, you may have done this on purpose ( I don't you so I don't know haha) Midori's looks a bit sad which I guess makes sense if she's coloring her own memory with the loss of Haru. Also Haru's smile is a little off. It's not very off but it effects the mood I think. It's still a happy smile it's just ...off. I can't pin point why though. Maybe it's because we can't see the eyes, or it might need to be turned up a bit more at the corner. I would have to play around with it to say for sure though.

For me, Haru's smile is a mix of a smile and a scream because he's enjoying it more than ever. This piece is so meaningful to me that I wouldn't change a thing (Gosh I'm starting to weep and I don't know why )
