Finished version! I still have to colour it properly but at least the whole drawing is finished
I am really pleased with the way it came out. I had never made such a nice, clean & detailed pencil drawing, I am so proud of myself

No prob! I really envy people who can draw in that style. When I do something in a sort if cartoon way I can't make it look graceful and awesome like that. It's sort of like your drawing is a cartoon but at the same time it has details on a level that make it feel really real.

I made the drawing by hand with pencil and then I scanned it. Once scanned I used the gradient tool (photoshop) in a separate layer and set it to 'colour' (i don't remember it very well...) and this was the result

This is most definitely my favorite style of yours. It was a picture much like this one that attracted me to your site. This is made of MUCH win. I can TASTE the effort that went into this.

If this was intentional, then I should be a very stupid person to have just mentioned it, but I liked the idea of how even though she's fire, the background isn't burned.

that's an interesting question but there are some things you should consider.The fire is produced by the staff and is only directed to the enemy, even though there are fireballs around, if the summoner aims to the enemy that's the only thing they'll burn. (Final fantasy way)
Anyway I hope my explanation doesn't change your opinion about the pic for the bad... thanks for commenting and faving
