Description Soon enough I'll be legally changing my last name to Cali, and I decided the new "family" needed a new coat of arms, so it could be told apart from other "Cali" around the world.

I chose an unusual sigil: a dralion.
It's not traditional heraldry, but it encompasses the name meaning, which is (like the aforementioned beast) an amalgam of my two current last names "Cardoso" and "Oliveira".

There's a tribute to "Cardoso" on the crest (the thingy above the helm): a thistle, or cardo.

According to traditional heraldry, the lion means courage and the dragon, protection and wisdom. To those meanings, I'd like to add determination, by extension.

About the colours, traditionally blue means truth and loyalty, and silver, peace and sincerity; that makes Truth the founding virtue of the family, as expressed on the motto "Truth until the grave."

The chrevron on the bottom (ordinary) usually symbolizes a house, which stands for the importance of the family itself.
