Here it is, the colors of my Bobble drawing. I did it in Colored Pencil...I had to swallow my pride while doing it. I don't really like coloring my own stuff.. especially in traditional means. But the friend that commissioned them, wanted them colored... so here is the first.
And... I just realized I mised part of the stump... oh well.

No, it was in the original Sketch and the movie.
The telescope is similar to A Bug's Life in that it is a water droplet rolled up in a leaf ^^. Thats the exact thought I got when I first thought it

Hey thanks man. I actually will be looking for a decent set of pencils instead of the Crayola ones I've been using and might actually make it routine... maybe I will get to like coloring them. I'll admit they do look kind of good with a splash of color.

A good advise. Try pastel. I never liked traditional coloring but I love pastel. It's like chalk and colored pencils mixed. It's a really cool medium.

Regular paper won't work for for that, you need cardboard or at least some thicker paper. It works pretty well on watercolor paper to. Here is some stuff I did with pastel [link] [link] [link] to give you an idea.

Ah cool... I might look into it. What I use for my art is a medium tooth paper usually... I prefer line work, but I suppose just being pig-headed and narrow-minded with my art medium won't get me anywhere...

It might be out of your comfort zone, but you did a good job! It might be just me, but it's difficult for color not to improve a piece (unless you're color-blind...or having a seizure as you color. Might not be the best time to be doing art).
