Looks like a case of Starcraft's Zerg race stuffed with cybernetics, I like it. As a fan of Bionicle straight from its very beginning back in 2001, my favorite antagonists have to be the Bohrok, that swarm mentality that they have is worthy of some praise on the writer's part.
It's amazing how that toy based world that started as an excuse plot turned into one of the most interesting stories I've ever seen, it's simply amazing.

Awesome pic, but that description bothers me: the Bohrok did the opposite of what you say, they destroyed Mata Nui and didn't bother with the inhabitants

Wow. I love the stylized work you put into this. Heh. I even adore the different shields you put in the foreground. but i don't see the ice shield anywhere. I wish I had more of these. except now i can't buy them due to stupid line discontinuation and HERO F*CKING FAGTORY!!!!!!

I missed out on a lot of the mid stuff too. Gave up on the toys after metru, then came back into it during Glatorian. THAT MUCH. I regret not buying Titan Mistika Takanuva when I had the chance. (the rest of the Mistika Toa? Not so much)

i had mistika gali, and she was alright; i use her mask for myinterpretation of toa tuyet.

I dunno. I didn't really like thier colors too much. Tahu got metru red'd, everybody got greyed out, Pohatu turned orange, Lewa became light green, Kopaka's eye was on the wrong side, etc. etc. The only one I dug was Takanuva, who, aside from the black parts, looks extremely similar to his original self.

Lego had a great opportunity to do something awesome with the rebuilt Toa Nuva, I think something like this [link]
would have been awesome, but Lego didn't think about such nostalgic design. Maybe the Bionicle franchise could've kept going if they'd just kept bringing back heroes.

I've also bought some, but every store I checked has a very poor selection of them. I even went to the Lego store in the Mall of America, and there was barely anything to choose from, and it was more expensive than what it was priced at the Lego website. But I grabbed some really cheap ones online, so I'm ok.

I feel ya. The only places that sell them around where I live are Wal*mart and K-mart, both of whom suck at restocking their shelves. All they have are a couple of Rocka 4.0's and about a million Furno 4.0's. We don't have any of the summer 2012 sets yet either.
And that's just LEGO. As far as Transformers go, the Kmart still has Dark of the Moon stuff lining the shelves and about a million bumblebees.

Check out the HF website, they've got all kinds of sets going really cheap. I ordered three of the animal-themed ones, and the most expensive one was like $5, and one for like $3. The only set I paid full price on was a Thornraax for the Gorast wings, but I also got Reapa for like $8.

they do make great piece fodder. Honestly, the only wave 3.0 sets I got were Bulk (cuz wolves are awesome) and Witch Doctor (FORTY SOMETHING F***ING BALL PIECES and a ton of bones). I wish Lego would reprint some of the old Bionicle sets. I'm sure they still have all the molds.

I'm sure they do, why would they get rid of them? They could totally recast all of the old ones. I really wish they'd just sell all the old sets as they were and make a separate line of Bionicle where they re-vamp the old sets with new pieces.

I'm good with either. That way I can get all the ones I missed out on during my "I'm bored of bionicle" phase. That was pretty much during the Metru Nui/Hordika Arc where all six guys were just the same thing, with different colors and weapons. That was fine for the Visorak and the Bohrok seeing as how they're supposed to be swarms, and Rahkshi were too badass to make me care they were all the same. But by the time Metru Nui rolled around, I was done. I didn't get back into Bionicle until Glatorians so there's a TON of stuff look back at and totally want (mostly titans)

Have you heard of bricklink.com? They sell any Lego piece that was ever made. I think you could also grab some old bionicle sets, but they'll probably be really expensive, so you might be better off just buying pieces.

Yeah, those things are awesome. I never got the two-toned fire sword, all I have is one single-toned sword from the Ackar glatorian set, which is distinctly less cool.

Wish I had an airbrush. Could repaint all sorts of pieces into some awesome colors, I've always wanted a purple toa. Not sure if that washes off though.

You shouldn't. I got it for a holiday or something, and I was really hoping for some of the weapons of sets I didn't get, like Onua claws or Gali hooks or Bohrok stuff. Probably 325 of the 400 parts were just Technic pieces that Lego wanted to get rid of, so I ended up with a few dozen of each kind of connector bars and pins (which is kinda good, I guess). I DID get, however, one black Onua claw, one Lehvak Kal silver claw, and one Nohvak (the black one, not sure what it's name is) silver claw. And assorted blades and such, but nothing really exclusive to one set, like a Tahu sword or a Lewa axe or something. I also got 2 goldish-copper Kanohi Vahi as well, and a couple little Technic pieces that I have no idea what they're used for.

yeah, the orange pohatu threw me off. the mistika makuta were good; bitil was surprisingly one of the best figures i've ever bought. he was really fun to pose.

I only ever got Gorast. I needed more lime green/black pieces. Plus a clear orange "hand connector" (dunno what they're actually called, but it's what makes the "eyes".
I actually wanted some Phantoka, specifically the red bat makuta thing,but I never found it in any stores.

it's always the red guys. As a kid, I already had 5 of the 6 original toa mata, save Tahu. Took me years to track one down.
