Hey ryoung! I really liked this painting and I used it as inspiration to practice on my drawing tablet. It's the first digital painting I've done. The finished piece is here : kaylasmith722.deviantart.com/a⦠. I hope you don't mind that I've posted it, I credited you and it's not professional or for sale, it's just some personal practice.
Great piece, really inspirational.

This is a beautiful painting.
I'm so sorry to hear about DA removing your featured work. Why did they remove them and what policies did they not adhere to?

Thanks DesirΓ©e,
Another Deviant [link] reported me for copyright abuse without checking with either myself, the dancer or photographer that all assisted me. DA gave me a notice that I had to immediately provide proof of copyright or they would delete my artwork. Unfortunately, I was on vacation at the time, so I only found out when it was too late and my deviation was deleted.
Per DA's policy, only a copyright owner or Agency acting on their behalf may file a complant as quoted below:
________________________________________________________________________
"Notification of Copyright Infringement
This section contains the formal requirements of the Copyright Act with respect to the rights of copyright owners whose content appears on deviantART without authorization.
To file a copyright infringement notification with deviantART, the copyright owner or an agent acting on his or her behalf will need to send a written communication that includes substantially the following:
1. A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or, if multiple copyrighted works at a single online site are covered by a single notification, a representative list of such works at that site.
3. Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity and that is to be removed or access to which is to be disabled, and information reasonably sufficient to permit the service provider to locate the material. In this regard please provide URLs when you identify the location of the material.
4. Information reasonably sufficient to permit the service provider to contact the complaining party, such as an address, telephone number, and, if available, an electronic mail address at which the complaining party may be contacted.
5. A statement that the complaining party has a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
6. A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that the complaining party is authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
___________________________________________________________
Not only was the Deviant who compleined neither ther copyright holder nor an Agent, but she did could not have provided the prerequisite evidence as it does not exist.
And DA did not obtain any feedback from myself before delating my Deviation.
I wrote several times to DA and they once said that they would look into it but then ignored me.
I also filed a complaint against the Deviant in accordance with DA's policy, but nothing was done.
I also requested reinstatement of my Deviation which was ignored.
I don't blame the other Deviant, as she clearly knows no better, though DA should at least stick to their own policies, hence I removed all prints which will have lost them several hundred dollars in lost revenue.
Apart from that, DA are fine...
My complements on your excellent gallery by the way...

What an awful situation. Will they allow you to re-upload said image?
What is ironic though is that there are times when I have discovered my own work plagiarized here on DA and have reported said deviants and no official action by DA was taken(to my knowledge). It was by contacting the deviants directly that the copied pieces were removed.

I asked them to restore it as it was very popular having over 1,300 favourites which I wanted restored. As usual they simply ignored me... They are totally unprofessional... I don't intend to re-upload it. If anything, I will one day close my account if I get any busier with my artwork.

do you paint with the help of a reference model, in picture or person, or do you extract it from your memory of the human anatomy???????
