Description
At just over 11 inches long, the Bufflehead is our smallest diving duck. They breed throughout Canada, nearly exclusively in old woodpecker nest cavities, and spend their winters throughout most of the United States and Mexico. Lighting fast in flight, they are extremely fun to watch, but usually quite irritating to photograph. Without the right light, they are amazingly difficult to properly expose. I was fortunate to have nice dark storm clouds overhead when photographing this male.Conaskonk Point

Dig the pose and perfect framing. Exposure is good as well. Would be cool to have a photo of them in the nest cavities.
