New Digimon character? New Digimon character. Because I have no life, and because I really wanted to use Chirmon for something after rediscovering him.

Name- Kobiyashi Yuto

Age- 21 (He was too young to remember Diaboromon, but he was about 6 when the whole Owikawa/Dark Seed mess happened.)

Gender- Male

Digivice- Tamogochi

Shard- Sincerity
Height- 6’, 165lb

Nationality- Japanese

Personality- So, Yuto is pretty much the textbook description of not judging a book by its cover. The boy looooves hard rock and metal, and loves the aesthetic just as hard. He wouldn't look out of place in a metal festival in America, at least until he pulls out his shoujo romance manga. Has been known to cry from time to time at particularly adorable kitten videos. Or small children. Or tiny old grandmothers. His idea of how best to spend a Saturday morning is having tea with the little old lady who lives in the apartment above him. (She taught him how to make mochi because her hands aren't strong enough anymore and now they hang out and have mochi all the time)

Chirmon is just... his best buddy forever. That being said, he treats pretty much everyone he meets with the same bright, honest optimism. He assumes everyone is awesome and worth being friendly to, and this backfires far less often than one might expect. Even most hardcore jerks aren't sure quite how to behave around someone who genuinely believes they are great people. He spends a lot of his free time volunteering with animal shelters and helping widows and widowers in his apartment with the chores they can't do anymore. About the only thing he selfishly spends money on is jewelry. He's got a real hard time passing up awesome, gothic-looking stuff.

History- His mother is Japanese-Canadian, and his father was willing to follow her lead with raising their child. Therefore, while he didn't get pushed and supported to success the way most of his classmates did, he had unconditional love and support from them in every other way. Yuto's an only child, and had a very happy childhood with parents who doted on him.

He did get picked on a little bit as a child in school; he was never smart enough for academic clubs, nor skilled enough for the gaming ones. Luckily, his family was constantly supportive of their (possibly a little dim) sweet boy, and his seeming inability to be mean to anyone meant that people eventually started standing up for him. Picking on Yuto is like kicking a puppy. There are some people who might do it for fun, but most people would be horrified at the idea.

Meeting Chirmon at age 16 was wonderful for him. While he'd always had a wide group of people he called friends, Chirmon was the first one who loved him as much as his family did. He often ran into trouble getting close to people- athletic people took one look at his huge frame (courtesy of his Canadian Grandfather) and assumed he was a jock. Girls assumed he was a bad boy trying to get under their skirts (not that he'd have minded doing so, but only if they invited him to do so.) As much as he loved music, he's pretty tone deaf, and wasn't gifted enough with even percussion to make it into any of the music programs in school. It was hard for him to find a group that he really fit in with.

He did have a few relationships in school, but none of them really worked out right. He's definitely open and looking for love, but since he seems just as enthusiastic about making a new friend as a possible girl/boyfriend, it's hard for him to get a romantic relationship off the ground.

After graduating, he got a job in the same company his father works at. While he's not the most skilled worker, he is diligent, and excellent at talking to upset customers. He's managed to make a space for himself there, enough to help his parents with their house and still have enough extra money to pay for concert tickets and awesome clothing and jewelry. (Since all of his customer interaction is over the phone, he's allowed to keep his piercing and long hair, as long as he braids it as neatly as the women in the office do. (This has sparked an utter fascination with all the cool things you can do with long hair.))

Upon hearing about the call for new Digimon Tamers to help with increasing tensions, Chirmon was actually the one to suggest they sign up. Since it really boils down to helping more people, Yuto didn't take a lot of convincing. He does miss having as much free time to volunteer with his old neighbors and organizations though.

Extra Info- He did play drums in a student band in high school, mostly comprised of misfits, and they played rather unprofessional metal and rock music.

He’s got a lot of piercings, including a septum ring, eyebrow ring, and multiple ear piercings. No tattoos, too much of a cultural taboo, although he would probably get some if he moved to a different part of the world.

Digimon-

Chirmon is a Virus type Wind Guardian Digimon. His In Training form is called Squemon. He arrived when Yuto’s faithful old Tamogochi finally bit the dust. He knew it was kinda silly to be THAT sad over his old toy, but he’d hatched hundreds of little digital pets on it, and it had been a pretty constant companion since he was 8 years old. He kept it on his pillow that night despite it refusing to work even with a new battery, and woke up to it having returned to life, and a digi-egg nestled beside it.

The egg hatched fairly quickly, and the two were inseparable. There were a few other Digimon around now, enough that it wasn’t unusual for Yuto to have him around. Turns out he’s better at math and chemistry than Yuto is, and was helpful studying for his finals. He also absorbed his partner’s love of loud, hard music, and attends EVERY concert with him.

Chirmon’s almost as friendly as his human, probably a little cleverer. He isn’t necessarily as blindly nice and sympathetic as his partner, but that’s maybe a good thing. Sometimes he acts as a little bit of a cautionary force to keep Yuto from getting in over his head.
