The Aztec civilians…they practice so many things! I saw the altar of Human Sacrifice, and I never thought or dreamed I would one day find out that people gave humans away to keep these ‘Gods’ happy. Because of my smarts, I was ordered to read the pictures, and they told of the life of a child in Aztec. The males would be taught to be a good warrior, and fight to the death to keep the land of the Aztecs safe. Females were simply taught to keep the home well organized and well taken care of. Never in my life, would I have thought pictures were so descriptive.
I remember the time when I found all that gold in that chamber. It glimmered in the slight slivers of moonlight seeping in through the gaps between my troops as we gazed in awe at the riches the Aztecs held so dear . I was awed in delight as I found so many necklaces and chokers hidden beneath the piles of golden bricks. As I had searched through the tiny bits of gold, I found traces of silver and bronze, such beautiful colors, the silver was turned from silver to pearly white, like the moon itself, and the bronze was turned gray, like the fur of a gray tabby cat as shimmers of darker shades of moonlight peeped in, staining the pure gray with dark streaks of beauty. I was truly awe stunned at the sight of such beauty of the moon’s color.
The next thing that seemed to stun me in amazement, which was the well taken care of soil, caught me entirely by surprise. As my troops and I scanned the swampy territory, shrouded with mist, we could barely see. A few of my troops stumbled, but quickly regained themselves as we continued. As we scanned the muddy area, we found that the soil was very good for growing crops. Herbs of all different types surrounded the land, including Mint, used for sore throats, Chamomile, for headaches, Jasmine, for relaxation, and of course, they’re blueberries of many types. We found Nightshade, Blueberries, we ate those to keep our strength up, and we also found holly berries. One of my troops was very hungry, and almost ate one, Luckily, I stopped him. That one was way too close for comfort.
As we made our way back to the heart of the Aztec land, we found the strongest place in the Aztec country, Tenochtitlan. I t was a beautiful sight to see. The moonlight glimmered over the little huts, where our enemies were sleeping peacefully. I almost didn’t want to attack, but this was for the best of my home and kin. We continued slinking through the shadows, unseen, as we prepared to attack using the element of pure surprise.
I heard my leader, Hernan Cortes, let out his battle cry. I drew my twin swords from the sheathes on my back and ran into battle. The Aztecs, completely unaware, all scattered for safety. I gained up behind a young male, obviously not trained to fight someone as skilled as me, and held my sword against his throat. I growled softly, letting him know that this was his end. After I finished him off, I cleaned my sword and rushed out again to battle more. I was going to prove my worthiness to Hernan, no matter what.
The battle was over, and my troops and I were all walking around our new land, pointing out things that we could benefit from, such as thick trees for hiding in, and a shadowy clearing, good for hiding from competitors. We had won this battle, this Aztec country was wiped out by us, and now, we would name this new home for us Mexico, land of the Spanish who defeated the Aztecs.
