Okay. This paintig is one huge mistake.
I wanted to paint Aredhel Ar-Feiniel (from Tolkien's Silmarillion), so i just grab the brush and this is the result. BUT.... When it was finished, I've finally opened the book and found this description of Aredhel: Pale skin, dark hair, she always wears silver and white..
Whoops.
When I was reading Silmarillion I've never imagine her dark-haired. Weird.Anyway, let's pretend she looks like that.
On the painting she's roving in Nan Elmoth forest and her future husband drools over her beauty behind some tree. __

she was the one who married ... the evil elf... and died to protect her son, right? i should reread the simarillion, I suppose. But your pic is really nice nethertheless. she could be nienor as well (wait. is nienor blonde?), when she got lost in the forest and met turin. kind of. AWESOME PIC!

Actually, Tolkien specifically said that ALL elves, unless they were of the house of Finrod, had DARK hair. They were the only ones who were blond.

While it may not be how she is described in the book, this is a beautiful painting, does justice to the beautiful world of Middle Earth, and I love that dress.

Really good? Awesome! J love the way you colored it, she's almost the same as J imagined her. J always trought she has a light hair, where Simlarilion says that Eol imagined her like a star in the wood, J think. So, J was thinking she is blonde

Lovely painting! It's true, it doesn't look like Aredhel, but if her hair was curly she'd look almost exactly like my character Kalin who also traveled into Nan Elmoth.
