These cakes, with love, are just for you.

Sorry about the rhyme, couldn't resist! It's been ages since I'ved made and decorated cupcakes, so I thought, why not make some Valentine's Day themed cakes? It's not like I've got the time to spare with all this university work! ;D And so I did, and here be the fruits.

Your using too much cornstarch or powdered sugar(or both)
When you press a cut piece of fondant/gumpast on to a Veiner or textures padded you really need to put to much,
If you dust the Veiner and then take a decorating brush and brush off the ascess or between the veins you'll still be able to lift the fondant/gumpast off. If its gumpast you can brush off the dusting mixture after you texturizing/vein it. I make lots of gumpast flowers so I know how frustrating sticking can be. If the fondant/gumpast is to sticky just dust with only cornstarch. Great jop on the rose very nice swirl

Thanks for the tip! I use only cornflour/cornstarch, and I know I use too much. It's as you say - it's frustrating when it sticks! and I'm always too impatient to properly brush it off the fondant. Lazy of me, I know! Thanks again.
