I started this piece after seeing the excellent movie "3:10 to Yuma", i got inspired and motivated to do some old western stuff, and i ended up with this, a lone Gunslinger walking through a deserted region at sunset.www.facebook.com/sohei.art

I think the choice of black and white was perfect. This picture just screams dramatic & the harsh shades used are just perfect.

I absolutely love this piece. The style is incredible; It's almost line art but you added your own unique twist to it. the entire piece is either black or white with very minimal simple lines to create what either a sheet of white or pitch black shadows do not. You must have spent a great deal of time studying lighting and shadows to be able to create such beautiful and realistic lines with only black and white [ literally ] no other scale.
usually in this type of art I have a hard time telling where one piece ends and another begins. Because of your amazing shadow / lighting placement everything is so clear to follow and nothing blends together distractingly.
The character is extremely realistic [ except for the pistol ] as stated above. But I think the simplicity of it works here because of the choice to make the piece strictly black and white no shades in between.
The blurred affect of the background is a nice distancing affect. Wonderfully Drawn. I loooove this piece.
