Isn't most of that not just food for her? I mean mermaids have to eat fish.
π: 0 β©: 1
s0s2 In reply to rphb [2019-12-10 22:15:33 +0000 UTC]
She eats everything. Beside that, she still helps creatures that are in need. Wouldn't you also help a cow or a chicken that got tangled in barbwire? Just because we eat them doesn't mean we have to treat them badly.

Of course, I have been raising chickens since I was little, and I do care for them. Despite the occasional slathering.
Every autumn we kill the young cocks as well as the old hens.
When I was younger I discovered almost too late that the ring around one of our hens legs was too small, which resulted in her getting a very nasty wound.
We cleaned and bandaged it, and luckily it healed just find, for the rest of her life Houdini (that was her name) didn't have a ring, and we have since bought goose rings for the hens and cocks with abnormally large legs, so this wont happen again.

I always enjoy thy comics, not only are they well drawn, but also thoughtful. I will tell thee, after reading basically the same wish fulfilment story a hundred times I am sick to my stomach about it.
Making original characters that are actually deep is a rare skill these days.

tell me the truth? Is she from Bangladesh, because I cannot think of any place in the west that are that littered.
π: 0 β©: 1
s0s2 In reply to rphb [2019-12-17 09:04:28 +0000 UTC]
Actually, it's not supposed to take place in a certain place. I want to show that this could be playing anywhere in the world, because trash in the ocean is a global problem.

rphb In reply to s0s2 [2019-12-17 13:44:37 +0000 UTC]
Yes but this takes place in a coastal zone. The oceanic plastic tend to gather in the great mid oceanic gyres, a big problem yes, but not one often seen by humans.
There are however places in the world where litter is much more "in-your-face" and on the beaches, such as like I said Bangladesh. We simply cannot find such a scene of massive beach and coastal litter anywhere in the west (Europe, North America, Australia/New Zealand)
And as far as I can see, the little litter maid have never been far out into the ocean, as the suns rays clearly reach the sea floor in all of her appearances underwater, in other words every event in the comic takes place either on land or on the continental shelf.

Really happy you like the comic, thank you! ^^
Have to tell you though that their friendship is platonic. After all, it's a comic about ecological issues, not a love story.
Hope you'll still enjoy it!
