The best part is that the ailerons on the end of the "front" winglets are actually backwards. This is probably because the artists who just didn't understand aircraft made most of this design by tracing a photograph of an ACTUAL airplane taken from the back.

This is particularly amusing when you realize it, because it means you can only ever see the thing as flying backwards while the dumbass pilot shits bullets at nothing and considers their life choices.

Beautiful designs... but does she realize she's got it backwards? I love how your 'Retro30Ultralight' series has such a strong grounding in the actual aircraft.

What is keeping her from flying back into the propeller?Β Β  The only 'seat' I see doesn't look high enough to be much of a platform.Β Β  Also, the canards are on backwards; the part that swings up and down should be facing away from the wind, not into it.Β Β  Still, an interesting idea.

Hi!
It took a while but I finally given permission to do an improved version of this model taking into account the problems you've spotted.

Higher seat(not visible) for support, reduced angle on the gull wings, and canards are reversed. I thank you for helping make this a better model.

Not to worry. She's not designed for combat. Just for show.

I hear radial engines needed forced intake air for cooling; is there an air intake on this I'm not seeing? also that armament is pretty incredible for it's size... 2x 20mm cannons (i think?) and a 250lb bomb?
also, didn't the bent wing formation cause excessive drag/lack of turning circle maneuverability?

I'm probably wrong about it, but the design is pretty sexy tbh.Β  love it dude.

Good to see your work again!

Great to hear from you again, buddy! These are all good questions, there are indeed a few things to improve on this design. The final shape is purely aesthetics, then again, these things aren't meant to go at excessively high speeds so I guess the wing shape will do. Basically does what a normal ultralight would, only fancier.

Good to see this kind of work dude

TBH I've always got the engineering questions.Β  I love the designs though.

Is there three wheels for landing? Is the front wheel in the front part of the fueselage? Β
When you say ultralight, do you mean like a microlight? you got a ref for me? I just want to be on the same page.Β  The worry with something this small is fuel consumption (especially with a radial engine.)

Thanks! It's hard not to think of physics when dealing with these things, so I try to work with childlike imagination, alternate reality kind of thing where certain materials behave differently, helps me come up with these crazy often quirky looking models. Anyway back to reality - yes, it has three wheels, one folds into the fuselage near the nose, squeezing between the twin guns. I should post the plans to this soon. It's meant to be a glorified microlight really.

Are those minis being made of one of these designs still? Was that some news that was happening a while back?
AH we're taking it with a rule-of-cool-meets-applied-phlebotinum approach?

Yes, all three designs will be made into scale plastic models. No release dates yet, but they are in the pipeline.

Micro Art Studio - Poland based will handle the microlights. www.microartstudio.com/index.p…
I also have a couple of models in the works for Maxmini maxmini.eu/index.php?route=com…
Not allowed to show any now, top secret.

Nice looking design , but the canard wings in front are on backwards and the gull wings on the body seem a little low . If they were up where her feet could rest on them it might look better . Regardless it's a nice picture .
