I like it! One suggestion, IMHO there is too much white, you should add some areas with very light grey to tone it down (i.e. The Notification Tray background). Just my 2 cents.

In my honest opinion in this version 3 you introduces a couple of interesting things such as the look and feel of buttons that is more metrofied that the own windows 8 version, and whiter contextual menus. However windows buttons look better in windows (mainly the red only is better achieve by microsoft and the cross is also better), and the already mention metrofied buttons are in gray instead of white, that makes them look a bit strange, mainly because you changed the main gray icons to blue (scrollbar for instance).
I think that you are pointing to the right direction, to do desktop windows look like metro, however there are things missing. Anyway, congrats !

I agree, the old version that didn't have the gray highlight looked much better.
Also, as a request, could you please change the color of the taskbar font to black (it is now white) so that you can use the "Never combine" option. Right now the text is white and so is the taskbar so it is impossible to read. I would be eternal grateful if you did this.

could you perhaps remove the "File,Computer,View.... "Bar ? to make it even more minimal, that would be great.
i still use windows 7, but if you would do that, i think i will change to 8, i love the win8 look.

You can disable ("file, computer, view bar" or Ribbon win8)with Ribbon disabler application and use aero8tuner to get the transparent taskbar in windows 8. But on this themes, I don't want to delete any features in Windows 8.
