Having more fun with GIMP ^^It’s obviously crappy but I did it and I’m proud, I’ll keep trying until I rock at it!
If anybody who actually knows how to use this program can offer any advice for a learner, now would be a good time
Like, how would I make the shadows look more fluent and realistic?
Keeping in mind I have the most profound LACK of knowledge of this program XD

I totally suck at GIMP, but maybe this helps: If you draw the shadows on an new layer, try making that layer a bit "transparent" (this may be called layer transparency or opacity or something similar).
Concerning the shapes / lines, I actually think you did a great job, except maybe for the line to the right on the arm (the one that looks like a fork). That seems more out of place / not following the arm. Still cool stuff, nice idea!
