Description An old water tower right outside my hometown.

Multi Exposure made of 218 exposures, 30 seconds each @ F 2.8 & ISO 400.

Could've done it with one long exposure, but preferred doing it this way to minimze noise & overexposure by the lights of a nearby town.

I love the light hitting the tower, it gives the image a very eerie feel.

hmmmmm
Actually, I wanted to paint it evenly with my flashlight. But I missed a few areas.
So I didnt really want it to look that way.

But hey, some people get lucky. I'm one of those people.

Thanks for stopping by, arabienne.

Wow... absolutley stunning.

But where is your hometown?
The stars seem to be really bright - couldn't imagine to find something like this somewhere here in germany ^^

My hometown is a city in the Easyern part of Saudi Arabia. But this isnt why the stars appeared that bright. It's because of stacking, I get to shoot short intervals that give me bright stars in a very dark sky.
I guess u can do it in Germany without having to raise ISO to 400.

Thanks for passing by..

I agree with your choice of so many exposures, a pain to do I know, but there is so much that can be down with each each exposure as far as detail color etc before stacking. This is truly fantastic

Naaaaah, Its not as hard as it may seem. Now there is a software that made it all easy and automated.
All I needed was a tripod, a programmable remote release (D200 can be programmed as well) and lots and lots of tea.

BTW the foreground was painted with a flashlight.

Thanks for stopping by..

Yeah I know there are programs that do that...like Registax, and I think Photoshop CS3 has an image stacking program. I will have to try that one out when the hubby and I can bring out the telescope and do some night shots
You did the foreground with a flashlight...bravo
