Description A member of the Alioramini, Ichtyotyrannus ileri (Iler's Fish-Tyrant), is one of the most spectacular of the fishing theropods. A 16-foot tyrannosaur adorned with iridescent plumage that is most prevalent on the head and neck, this relatively placid theropod spends its days hunting the streams, swamps and rivers of Eurasia and Africa, feeding on such fish as the wolf-sauger, eels, large frogs and salamanders, crabs, and anything else that wanders into its waiting jaws. Though females are predominantly solitary, males gather into groups to feed, cooperating to drive prey into one another's reach. Occasionally, this beast hunts in conjunction with its larger cousin, the Tyrant Wader in areas where their ranges overlap, snatching up any fish that tries to escape the larger tyrannosaur. Fast and agile, it also will hunt small dinosaurs, adding to its diet when drought and harsh climate make fish numbers scarce. Like birds such as ducks, the mother will lead her young to fresh hunting grounds, where they begin hunting small prey such as minnows and crayfish. Β

Another speculative tyrannosaur, one that was created from one of our previous Dino Name Contests by . When I started this drawing, the end result was something I kept seeing before I put pen to paper, as if I had already known what was going to emerge before it happened. Once I started it, I also could not stop until it was completed. Though I was originally intent on putting an azhdarchid pterosaur in the background, I felt it was distracting and instead put the fallen tree that you see here. The bark design on said tree was done by hand over four hours. Β

Thanks, Sam. Also, did you see the species name? That's a tribute to you coming up with the name.
