EDIT: Thank you to all the wonderful comments, but just to clear up, these aren't caribou, they are white-tailed deer.

Started this yesterday.
Since I finished it when it's dark outside I had to make do as best I could. I'll upload a good quality, better coloured verison tomorrow!
I really didn't expect the river to end up like that - I actually wasted a whole lot of paint at that part. Probably the easiest part of the picture was the deer itself! This is my first completed acrylic painting on a canvas (well, it's a canvas board) and I'm pretty damn proud of it.
I guess it took me about 9 or 10 hours? Not that long because acrylic is a lot faster than pencil. It's A2.
Feel free to interpret the picture however you like - I have my own interpretation of it, if you wanna know what it really means, feel free to comment. ^-^

The "ghostly" images of the other deer really completes the image. Otherwise, the poor lonely deer would be gazing at the sky for no reason

Lovely painting, the subtle colours gives an idea of the cold winter, the pure snow...the feeling that it's actually snowing, beautiful... however, everything just came to ashes when I saw that huge sign with a star on it, it draws a lot of attention of the actual image, specially because it's not a digital painting a digital stamp on it looks really bad, a smaller one wouldn't make such a harm to the piece or none at all...

Yeahhh... I kinda just don't want anyone to steal it, because I've seen a lot of stuff stolen, and since I didn't even sign the front of it on the real thing, it's just really there to deter people.

do you know how easy is to erase that stamp without your image been damaged? but oh well... I understand.

Love the soft colors and wonder of it all. To me, when I look at this, I thought the deer on the ground was looking up at the deer in the sky in awe because they're bringing winter and Christmas there... what was your interpretation of it?

Gorgeous contrast between the deer in the foreground, and what I would guess are spirit deer? Or metaphorical? Either way the contrast is quite striking.
