Description

Seen in the Aquatic Bird House, at the Bronx Zoo. Despite being called a goose for its long neck, this 'goose' is actually a duck and is, therefore, more related to the dabbling ducks and other species that are called 'ducks'  (just like its African counterpart). Living in a range from India to Australia, this bird requires tropical climate and plenty of flying space. The Bronx Zoo is just few of the zoos to successfully breed this species (despite it not being endangered or threatened). It also called/known as the cotton pygmy goose, cotton teal, and/or white-quilled pygmy goose.
