Description Continuing on our trail through the oceans of the Lantern Safari, we see an anglerfish swimming by, waiting for prey to take the bait, which is in the form of its 'fishing lure,' or its dorsal spine. Believe it or not, this is a female, as females are way larger than the males. The males, however, are much smaller (about an inch long) and, once mated, attach themselves to the females, like how an external parasite would (I know, ouch and yuck!). However, that seems necessary for the males since they cannot mature without finding a female to attach themselves and would instead die if they don't. (As for the jellies in the background, I'll explain later, or soon.)
