Here's a series of pics showing how I made the wings for my Weeping Angel Statue cosplay from Doctor Who.
Materials: cardboard, wire hangers, old backpack harness, and lots of foamboard

In hindsight, I probably should have made the wings a bit smaller since they get a little heavy after wearing them for a long duration, but they work pretty well. Next time I hope to aquire a larger and stiffer foam block to carve instead of trying to piece it together.
