So Miracle treat day was August the 13th. A day when Dairy Queen donates about 80% of all profits from Blizzards sold to the Children's Miracle Network / Stollery Children's Fund. On this day, employees from every gigantic corporate office come in and order A TON of blizzards for everybody they work with. This includes Police stations, Fire fighters, Teachers, Mechanics, etc, etc. Random people make donations too. If you've ever gone to partake in this good cause, you can agree that it's sheer and utter MADNESS. Now try and look at it from the other side of the counter:For the people who don't know me, I work at a Dairy Queen. On Miracle treat day, before our DQ even OPENED, we had TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY SEVEN pre-orders for Blizzards. Morning shift alone sold approximately 680 Blizzards in 5 hours, and evening shift sold around 320 in 4.
AT THE END OF THE DAY, WE MADE AND SOLD OVER 1,000 BLIZZARDS!!!
I tried to keep a tally on the ones I made; I ended up making about 140.

I used to work in a school cafeteria and I felt this way after Parents and Grandparents day where we ended up having to make a crap ton more food than usual. Oh, and can't forget soup days when we had to bring out the bowls as well as the trays. Those days ran us RAGGED.

Funny comic. Did you really count how many blizzards you and your co-workers made? Or did someone keep track? That sounds insane. Glad I don't work there.
I love all the detail you put into the backgrounds of your comics too, all the little details make it so interesting. though I'll admit I've never looked too hard at the other side of the DQ counter before.
Anyway, hope you make more comics in the future!

lol yeah. I had my sketchbook open across the counter and was keeping a tally while Miracle Treat Day was going on. I don't think I even started keeping track right away, either, so imagine how many extras I missed! x_x

I have worked at Dairy queen on Miracle treat day...so I know how you feel...
Though the next year...when I had to go to my local dairy queen on my day off to get around 700 blizzards for the high school with my math teacher...the workers looked like they wanted to run out of the store (one actually did)

I know how you feel!!! We had the buy one get one half off at our dairy queen and it was hell! Truffle pieces, brownie pieces, caramel, and chocolate everywhere EVERYWHERE! Took me a half and hour to mop front alone T3T ... Love your picture ^-^.

I work at a BK in a truck stop, and one day the McD's across the street caught on fire... EVERYONE and their GRANDMA went to us. All while I worked with two new people and I had the most experience out of the three of us working there; that experience being less than a year. 500$ in two hours

Dairy Queen is a soft serve ice cream fast food place. They have some pretty good blended ice cream treats.

Don't feel stupid! You live in Australia (according to your profile) and Dairy Queen is exclusive to the US and Canada, as far as I know, so it's not a big deal that you haven't heard of the place.

Cold Rock Ice Creamery - you say what favour ice cream. they put it on a cold slab of (clean) rock. Then, you say you want M&Ms? they throw them in. and pretty much anything else you can think of - boost bars, normal chocolate, oreos, mars, snickers, musk sticks, gum bits, chocolate chips, let your imagination run wild! so, once you've chosen what you want, they put it on the ice cream on the cold rock and smash it up with scoopy things. they put it in a little cup and its yours. its like little suprises in normal ice cream

At my DQ, we do this thing called Cone Day, where all the profits from the cones go to a cancer foundation. We usually have six or seven of us in there, though, so while it's crowded no one gets overworked too much. XD
