For those of you who care, or are curious, a rare explanation of my madness:
Five years ago--no, I gotta go back further. In the early years of my life, I was completely more into Disney than I am now at this point in my life.
I don't remember how long ago it was precisely when I got the idea, but it was then that I was introduced to InuYasha and the world of manga and anime. And my life would never be the same again. And, as I'm sure most of you know or have discovered, I have been in love with movies all my life, and at the time I was watching "The Princess Bride" and I remember the first "Pirates of the Caribbean" had already come out at that point. I had been going to dinner at BJ's and had them both in my mind at the time, when suddenly, an urge came to my head: I want to make a comic.
Like InuYasha; a manga. But about pirates. So there in the restaurant, using my grandmother's lead pencil and a scrap of paper, I drew Robin and Kathryn.
Their looks were inspired by InuYasha and Kagome, and I made up their story revolving around that of Buttercup's and Westley's--the middle version: princess traveling and gets abducted by a masked man. So in 2005, I started to draw their story. Making random characters and story lines involving them as I went along with it, but then, after working on the fourth one in 2008, I had to stop. Because I had to restart the story; I had left out so many things just to make it fit in the pages, that I figured out that wasn't what I wanted. So for the past few years after wards, I had been reworking characters to fit my ever-changing style, the setting, character background stories, etc. And I then came to the point where my confidence for the story and the characters and everything were building and I decided it was finally time: I had to draw the final comic.
It was at that point where introduced me to SessxKag; and artists who drew them like and , and stories written by Tally Mark and RosieB. Then the obsession started and all hope for the final comic was lost.
Until now.
Anyway that's the background story to this comic. This will be the first of a series that will continue for as long as my obsession for SessxKag and other InuYasha character shipping and my characters' sheer hot-blooded determination to see the finished version of their story grows.
And upon revisiting my characters has made me make a great decision: I am going to make "Pirate Princess" into a webcomic.
