Bonjour, hope you all are doing well! I have finished another ORIGINAL FANART I did of Adora and Catra! Yes, it was again to draw this amazing duo! I love She Ra I can not deny it! Storywise it's a dark stormy night in Bright Moon. Catra denies that she is scared of a little storm. She jumps up out of bed. As a thunders boom comes from the sky. Catra then stares at Adora reminds herself she's not alone anymore. Adora stretches her arm comforting Catra. Catra soon starts diffs off to back sleep. Why worry her girlfriend was She Ra, no storm could stop her.

When I was thinking of this idea and trying to find inspiration, I finally used a mood board! Mood boards are SO AMAZING! It was a game-changer for me. I just went on Pinterest and found some good pictures of rain and some bedrooms! This really helped when trying to see how rain hits a window. So I highly recommend when working on any big project to use a mood board!

Now getting on to how made this artwork. For software, I used Procreate on an Ipad air with a 2nd generation apple pencil. I started out drawing in the bed and the room with a 6B pencil. Then I came in with a layer onto of my previous one and started sketching in Catra and Adora. Lately, I have been always using a brownish-red when doing my sketching. Why? Well, I have found when using ice blue it's different looking when setting that layer to multiply. Also, a light brownish-red is more closer to skin tones.

Then I used a wet acrylic brush for the flat colors and for the shading. For outfits, I put Adora in her standard turtle neck and Catra's PJs from the show. I did Bright Moon-themed colors for the bedroom. After shading, I came in and drew in Adora's heart glowing under her shirt. I know it is not really correct timeline-wise. Technically this is after the war when Adora already took the heart of Etheria to the failsafe. But hey I put it there I think it looks cool either way.

Lastly, my dad showed me some shading tips and how to make the painting look darker! I had no idea you could paint a layer of black over everything thing and just lower the opacity! Thanks so much, dad you're the best!(:

For this artwork, I used 21 layers, and took me about 7 hours!
