Description A Valentine's Day (well, month) treat for my fellow Taran/Eilonwy fans. Enjoy the romance!

No, this never happened in the books. But admit it: you KNOW you wanted it to on EVERY FREAKING PAGE of the final one.

Plus it's just unfair that the Disney adaptation gets a kiss while book purists like me do not. So here we go. Problem solved.

Born of about four oft-interrupted hours; a test of my resolve to get back into the habit of creating SOMEthing even in the midst of the demands on my time, so trying to work fast and loose.

Or pulling an inconvenient interruption; it looked like it was just about to happen in Chapter 1 of the final book.  Taran was going to propose, and Eilonwy was going to accept, and that likely would have been followed by a moment like this one.  If Fflewdur and Gwydion had arrived just a couple of minutes later... not that we can blame them, under the circumstances, but you have to agree that Arawn had execrable timing.  (I'm picturing the meta-Taran who appears in the black and white sketches announcing hiatuses in your comic vowing to take the Death Lord's head just for that, and meta-Eilonwy muttering darkly that if she gets her hands on Arawn first he'll wish Taran had cut his head off.)

I really like the impressionistic style you employed here.  Vincent Van Gogh is perhaps my favorite classic artist, and the way you built this illustration reminds me a lot of his work.

LOL, well, I have my own ideas about when a First Kiss happened, and it's well before the last book.  If I get so far in my comic I will NOT be prevented from depicting it; anybody who disagrees can gripe about it all they like, but I doubt I'll have too many detractors. There are some real purists in my audience but they already disapprove of half of what I'm doing, so... . Speaking of this.

Right, I remember a reference in "Opening Doors" to a previous kiss that must have happened very soon after the end of "The Castle of Llyr."  I think you're right: no way was Eilonwy going to let Taran sail away to the mainland before she'd kissed him at least once.

Ah, so you HAVE read Opening Doors.  I can't keep track.

I don't think I reviewed it yet; I often read something, digest it, and come back and review later.

And the Disney kiss was almost accidental.

And I love the lighting, and Taran and Eilonwy's clothing! ^^

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!! *fangirl moment* (And that was my real reaction to seeing this in my inbox too)

I wanted a moment like this through a good part of the series, I'll admit it! Taran and Eilonwy rarely get any kind of treatment like this, and they deserve it!

Even though it's quickly and roughly painted, this looks amazing, and I'm really impressed at the details put into it for something that was meant to be like a speedpaint.

Okay, you got me: I totally did. I love your Painter work too. It's gorgeously rough while showing every detail.
