Personality
Stoic ▶ Inexpressive ▶ Cool ▶ Controlled ▶ Shameless ▶ Stubborn ▶ Strong
Young-soo is the type of person you would call cold-hearted. He is rather inexpressive and he chooses to be so. However, this does not mean that he is rude or unpleasant to be around. For the most part, Young-soo is fairly kind and enjoys talking to people, even if he doesn't smile at all. He tends to be a very stoic person and has a great fear of people knowing his true emotions or seeing him in a weakened state, although he would never admit it. He also tends to be very stubborn and constantly denies his feelings, in fear that if he accepts them he'll being to show them. Young-soo is also very cool and controlled, and when he's put in a stressful situation he usually manages to work through it. Young-soo doesn't take most insults to heart, and tends to be very strong when people are rude to him. However, he can be a bit sensitive when people he cares about genuinely insult him, or act like they hate him. One thing Young-soo doesn't have, for the most part, is probably shame. He isn't necessarily inappropriate, but he doesn't know what's appropriate and doesn't care. He's shameless and if you asked him to strip without a reason, he'd probably shrug and do it without caring.
Bio
Young-soo was born in Japan to and Japanese father and Korean mother. His early childhood was rather pleasant to him and he enjoyed it for the most part, until starting school. It had all started with his name. Most of the children struggled to pronounce his name properly, which is why he had started going by Yuu (His second name). Asides from his name, many of the children found that Young-soo acted different. He was a giant crybaby, bigger than any of the girls had been, but other than that he didn't show much emotion at all, and the shy boy had chosen to sit alone by himself rather than play with other kids.
In kindergarten and elementary school, being different didn't pose such a problem, but once Young-soo had entered middle school, things were hard for him. He didn't agree with most of the people around him and what they were saying. He didn't care about about most of what the other students did, and as he was also getting more educated, his views were different from theirs. The girls didn't really care about any of this, in fact they thought that the quiet and now stoic Young-soo was cool and handsome. The boys however, thought differently. Young-soo would be constantly picked on by his classmates, and sometimes he would be beat up. As Young-soo entered his 2nd high school, he learned how it worked. He did the best he could to act like the other students, although it wasn't like him at all.
He managed to make it through high school with out dying. Although now, Young-soo felt although he was dying. His parents had started fighting day in and out, and university was more stressful for him than anything. On top of that, he had just gotten sick, as it was flu season. For some reason, this flu made him feel more horrible than anything else he had caught before. He felt that he could drop down and die at any moment. He was ready to on a cold winter night. It had been particularly gloomy that day, and his work was piling up. His parents were screaming in the kitchen about something so stupid he didn't even know what it was about. He was at his limit, and at this moment he grabbed a CD sitting beside him on the bed and threw it at the wall. Then another, and another, and another. There was a mess of the ground, and so Young-soo when to go pick up the pieces. When he kneeled on the ground, shards of the compact disks (made with dysprosium) cut his knees. After sweeping up the mess, he quickly made it a point to take care of the cut he had on his knee.
Young-soo had been sick for a bit over a week now. His parents had gone quiet. Too quiet. It was odd to him, but he was too tired and weak to pay any attention to it. All that he knew was that his parents had been talking to people. He didn't know who these people were, but he soon became fairly certain he knew who, the minute he woke up to a group of men in his room. "We'll be taking him now." was all he heard before he was knocked out by fatigue again.
Maybe it was a nightmare. The mysterious men in his room... maybe it had all been a dream? Oh, but it wasn't. The minute he opened his eyes again he was almost blinded. It was white, everywhere. He sat up. "Ah, it seems you're awake, Dysprosium." What? Dysprosium? Young-soo turned his head quickly in the direction the voice was coming. "Well then, I welcome you to 118."
