The best thing about him is crazy facial expressions! I'd gladly have him as my pet.

Incredible work of art. Steele maybe the bad guy in the first movie, but I cannot help to admit that he is one amazing piece of work.Β Β

Steele is one of the best villains voiced by Jim Cummings

That's pretty awesome, dude. Steele is quite a memorable villain.

Thank you, and I suppose so, given the heavy contrast he made in regards to the protagonist. Not a fan of him, personally, but I do like his design, for some reason.

His designΒ certainly is quite striking. I'll say that. Steele is every bit as much a dick and a bastard as Drago is. But for some strange reason, I can't help but to like him.

In regards to his design, he always struck me as being a bit reminiscent of Scar...not that that's a bad thing by any stretch of the imagination. XD

Indeed. Now that I think of it, he kind of does have that same vibe as Scar.

Yeah; self assured, arrogant, scheming...I wonder if the filmmakers had Scar in mind when they were designing Steele (AKA "he-who-gives-sled-dogs-everywhere-a-bad-name XD.)
Obviously, though, I like Balto WAY more. In addition to liking his character, I LOVED his facial expressions in the first movie. ^_^

It's difficult to say. For some people, it's because they find him more interesting than Balto. For others, it's the raw, feral power and strength he embodies. And for others, it's because he's yet another example of an evil character they find sexy.

As for me, his design is the only real reason I can think of as to why I might remotely like Steele.
Supposedly, the third movie was originally going to have Steele reform himself. Although considering the line he crossed in the film proper, I am not sure how that would work.

Yeah, I'm not so sure how that would work either.

Yeah. I did come across one fanfic that gave a comparatively realistic attempt at redeeming Steele-in that it would take a lot of steps, Steele's still an arrogant ass, and the grand heroic act that usually redeems a villain is just the first step.

Yeah. Granted, if one could take an approach like that, you could theoretically redeem the guy. But I am not sure. Although I imagine that being forced into exile (which is what I think was Steele's ultimate fate) would probably make him reconsider to some degree. But after what he did, I can't fully say that idea works.
Then again, for some reason, I kinda like Steele and Dixie as a couple, despite her (rightful) disgust and rejection of him at the end of the film. So I dunno. Maybe I'm just weird.
