Doesn't necessarily mean you're stuck up. Sometimes it just means you're not just lookig for praise by pretending to be modest... which lots of people do. Heck, I used to. But now it just annoys me to be honest. I always think people want something from me when they compliment me or simply talk to me. Sometimes I even just snap and say, "Cut the crap and just tell me what you want so I can say no and we can get on with our lives." I should do it more often... I don't like talking to people in real life. =/
