O Cryptotrix, é uma criação do Dr. Solomon Sábado, baseada no Omnitrix (criação e Azmuth), com algumas finalidades parecidas, como por exemplo, servir como repositório para diversas espécies de criptídeos, permitindo maior facilidade para os estudos dessas criaturas, como também servindo como uma espécie de “arca de Noé” (assim como Azmuth disse para o que servia também o Omnitrix), ajudando espécies ameaçadas de extinção. Mas além dessas funções passivas (e assim como o Omnitrix), provou ser também uma arma que em mãos erradas, podia ser devastadora. Diferente do Omnitrix e assim como o Nemetrix (uma contraparte do Omnitrix, criada pelo Dr.Psychobos, que contém predadores dos aliens do Omnitrix, que são seres irracionais assim como os animais da Terra), o Cryptotrix pode transformar o usuário em criptídeos e animais comuns, mas diferente do Nemetrix em que se o usuário for um ser racional e que acaba sofrendo insanidade mental ao usar o Nemetrix, o Cryptotrix não tem esse problema, pois ele é bastante estável e possui uma proteção anti-insanidade, como também ele pode traduzir os sons e linguagens dos criptídeos e vice-versa, permitindo a comunicação entre o usuário e as criaturas, é parecido com o tradutor universal do Omnitrix, mas só funciona apenas com criaturas da Terra, e assim como o Omnitrix, os criptídeos do Cryptotrix estão no ápice de suas espécies, o que pode ajudar na hora de um combate com algum indivíduo da mesma espécie em que o usuário está transformado.

Curiosidades: assim como o Omnitrix, o usuário começa apenas com 10 criptídeos, mas com passar do tempo, pode conseguir novas espécies pro dispositivo, escaneando-as. Mais tarde o Dr. Solomon Sábado acabaria adicionando a função evolutiva no Cryptotrix para servir como uma forma de ajudar na hora do combate.
