Description We need 8 party members on this journey! So let's GO!

Though Alena there stubbornly refuses to stay cooped up at home she boldly ventures out into the world to prove her inhuman strength! Her age-old mage tutor, Borya will have to accompany her out of respect for her father.

As for Kiryl, he would follow her anyway, no matter what. Someone's got to heal her injuries. Besides, he reasons to her that,

"If tragedy will hit, I do not imagine what I-I mean, the Tsar, is doing without you." ......... XD;;

COMMENTARY/COMPLAINTS:
Drawing correct cloth folds needs more practice....Didn't draw the rest of the cast, but Fortune Teller Meena seemed like a good fit here. Did lots of PS fooling around which made the picture VERY busy looking, so I dropped the text and ended with this. C:

Alena's pretty curly hair is as fun to draw as Kiryl's. (I've gotten better at drawing him. XD) That tomboy isn't a mage,......or an apprentice. She's a Tsarevna/Princess. Fooled me again.

Drawing: Aren't I playing favorites~
Color & Styling: ~2.5 hrs (not bad given how late it is)

Thanks, and do you mean how often do I upload them to my computer? I would have to upload anything into my computer if I plan to put it onto the web. The only exception would be if I'm taking photos, lol.

Not really, although PS and IL are my main digital tools.

There are several ways to get bright effects. Opacity levels, filters, brushes, etc. Dig up some tutorials for experimentation.

Man..I LOVE THE COLORING! It's so pretty and such. (I'm terrible at judging stuff. XD) I especially love Kiryl in the background. Idiot Moron's expression is so funny. He looks so grumpy. Or is he acting heroic?
"Girls always get the spot light..."
OR
"I AM THE HERO! THE WARRIOR! I BRING PEACE TO ALL LANDS! HUZZAH!"
Why does Idiot Moron remind me of Luigi? It's just how he looks. And Alena reminds me of Daisy,because of her hair. Also,like you said,Alena's a tomboy. I'M SEEING SOMETHING,HERE! People call Luigi an idiot or moron (*eye twitch*),and Daisy is a tomboyish princess. And they BOTH have the same colors as Luigi and Daisy. Idiot Moron's outfit is green,and Alena's hair is orange. Ha HA! I found an Easter egg! *bricked* Okay,hopefully I didn't explode your mind with all of these references,lol. But anyways,nice picture,love the coloring,and characters. Oh yeah,hope you feel better,too.

saiiko In reply to BrookeCPhotography [2012-02-07 14:02:26 +0000 UTC]

Did I ever ask you how I was supposed to address you? Β Lol, anyway I'll go with Brooke for now until you correct me. Much thanks! I tinkered around with the color brightness, since the usual scheme seemed.....ordinarily dark.

Hahaha, sounds like you enjoy calling Kiryl, Idiot Moron. XD;; Β Poor guy, he's grown out of his AI stupidity in the remake, but it's still madly fun seeing references to his spam attacks. Kiryl's official artwork usually has him looking this grump and serious......even when he is slightly blushing when secretly looking at his stash of Alena summon cards. That illustration there has become one of my all-time favorites. It depicts his personality and crush all in one. XD;;

On a side note, Kiryl may not be really a "hero" per say, since he isn't the main character. That's reserved for "Hero/Heroine" (Solo/Sofia) Still, as one of the Choosen Eight, Kiryl takes the role of the supportive cleric. He is a priest after all.

Oho~ you have noticed the connection of these two to Luigi and Daisy! That's right, their color scheme may be an obvious sign, but their personalities line up well too! I'm inclined to say that Princess Daisy's role model is Tsarevna Alena because come on, we have YET to see Daisy's physical strength. Of course, she is already beaming with energy and shows frierce competition, much like Alena and obviously both are tomboys. And like you said they share similar hair styles to boot.

As for Luigi and Kiryl, I suppose we can say they both share being called idiot at some point. Luigi being forgotten or called or anything but his name in the M&L series, and Kiryl by players who were massively frustrated over his retarded AI which casting attack spells that rarely worked.

Hence with all said, you didn't blow my mind. I hear you. Thank you VERY much taking the time to write your comment and saying something about the artwork too.

As *Luckythehedgefox mentioned, DQ stands for a long standing video game series named Dragon Quest. I believe it's just as popular (in Japan) as the Final Fantasy series. Both companies are presently merged as one (now called Square-Enix) and both series continue to have new games in development beyond the 10th installment.

This one in particular is DQ IV, which was made back in 1990 and released on NES in the USA in 1992. There have been several remakes, with the most recent one on DS around 2008. I suppose the most notable feature of the whole DQ series is the main artist who designed and drew the characters, Akira Toriyama of the Dragon Ball fame, haha.

Although I have done my research, funny enough I have not played the actual game itself, lol!

...dude, I would DIE for an anime version of this (lol nah, but one would be really nice since it will never happen). XD

Anyway, thanks.

Oh. Wow, so its a videoagame? Very interesting, yet, I would to play one of those games.

Several remakes? Wow, they must have wanted to improve the game, right?

Okay, so let me get this straight. You know all of this info, yet you never played it?

But what if it decides to have an anime version? What would you do?

You're welcome!

I enjoy RPGs as well, and yet I can't remember the last RPG I have played. I'm playing less NEW games in the past years!

There are a total of three versions, (NES, PSX and finally DS) and personally I don't think they'll do a third remake, but if they would make one in a gameplay style like the later RPGs (*AHEM*FF*COUGH*) where you can SEE your character fight that would be nice. You see, the main reason why I haven't played DQ IV is the gameplay is a turn off for me, haha! I watched some YT vids and sorry to say that Earthbound-Styled narrative text command battles aren't my taste. ):[. Although maybe I'll give it more of a chance later on.

If there is an Anime version of it I'd crap bricks, lawl. I'm already elated just by settling with fan animated music videos rom NicoNico/YouTube.

Hmm, aside from the Zelda series, I probably played most RPGs made by SquareSOFT. That include Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Musashi, Final Fantasy VII-IX, etc. Can't think of any other ones off the top of my head, haha.

She is? I haven't personally witnessed it since I haven't played the game where she originated from, though I HAVE seen Alena's animated Super Attack in DQ Battle Road Victory (Wii) and holy-!! All of the characters attacks a epically BAMF! O___o;;;

Huge shame though they are only card summons. :< I would LOVE to play AS the characters instead and actually fight!

I've never played this, but I've seen these two in Fortune Street, I just started to like Kiryl, but Alena is a bit hard to beat. (She's almost as bad as Stella, -_-") In Fortune Street, I mean.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

saiiko In reply to LuigiXDaisy001 [2012-02-07 12:39:52 +0000 UTC]

Playing Fortune Street was where I first learned about Kiryl and Alena. Turns out I saw them first in the opening trailer of Itadaki Street (prequel to FS) years back.

I've grown to like Kiryl, and then later on he proceeded to kick my butt by buying too many properties! Then again, I have forced him into bankruptcy in return on another map. >:] What made Kiryl likable to me though are his animations in FS. They are on par with Luigi's XD, especially when he gets a promotion or is the winner on the map. It's rather amusing.

Alena gave me a run for my money too on the first map I "fought" her, then again I had my AI challenge them. I admit, she did annoy me, as i prefered Bianca or Princessa's charm more. I only learned to tolerate Alena more after reading both her and Kiryl's profile haha. I also admit seeing Stella throwing a fit (like Patty) when they land on expensive properties is fun to watch, though that's understandable when you notice mountains of coins are spewing out of you. I'm gonna guess that Stella gave you a hard time? Peach definitely did to me......on NUMEROUS occasions!

On a side note when I turn on chat option, both Kiryl and Alena talk funny, all due to their pysudo Russian-English accent. XD;;

Ah, excuse me for ranting out loud.

Lolzz, I haven't played against Peach yet, but Stella does give me a hard time, as does Mario!! Lolzz, for some reason I decided to give Alena a little bit of a southern accent b/c I've never heard her voice before. But I just LOVE Platypunk!! My friend says it's weird b/c when we play, I picked Mario and Platypunk. She said it was b/c they were Italtins . Is Platypunk Italian?? The way he talks makes me think he is, so when I read his lines out loud, I do an Italtian accent . I love Bianca, though, and Slime(Too easy to get money from )
