CAPTAIN'S LOG:

We have found our first quarry. The SS Venture Sloop, a ship these pirates have quite unoriginally named the "Revenge 3," has been spotted on our long range scans and is speeding towards us on an intercept course. The Venture Sloop was one of ten ships along with their escort the Destoryer USS Johnston that was attacked by a squadron of pirate shuttles and their mother ship 8 months ago and was one of the five ships that were captured. Six of the cargo ships made it out, but four ships and the Johnston fell into enemy hands. We need to take this ship and it's crew relatively intact. We have broadcast a false transponder signal of the quite fictional container ship SS M'Pinga, named for the crew member who won the drawing for this honor. They will be dropping out of warp in front of us soon.

The second the "Revenge 3" dropped out of warp, panic set in. The captain could've fought, ran, or surrendered. Neither choice was good. He took the second option and tried to escape.

"His shields are up, Captain." Commander Canaris informed his CO. "They are trying to get a signal out."

"Jam it, Heinz!" Captain Venthen replied

"Done before you ordered it, Captain."

The antennae on the Captain's head clearly showed she was pleased. "Mr. Decker, have you got the shield generators targeted."

"Yeah, I've got them." Ens Decker responded with a smile

"Okay, Cam. Fire!"

The narrow phaser cut a hole through the pitiful shields and right into the "Revenge 3," practically disentigrating the shield generator in the process.

Lt. Cdr Selin scanned the ship "A perfect shot for our purposes. The shields are down and she has lost impulse control."

Venthen's antennae then twitched. "Now comes the hard part. Mr. Canaris, hack into their Bridge's com system..."

In the transporter room, Lt Cdr Price stood at the console with Lt JG Collins. On the pad were five Starfleet Marines and their boss Major Tachibana.

"Okay, Price. Put me and my pair at the front of the bridge and Sarge and his pair at the back." She said before putting on her helmet.

"Got it. Collins, you energize. I'll put them where they want to be."

Working in concert, Price and Collins managed to put the Marines exactly where they wanted to be. And though Venthen said this was the hard part, the Marines captured the bridge in less than 15 seconds in a blaze of phaser blasts. A second group of Marines were soon beamed into the engineering section, capturing it almost as quickly. From the time the ship dropped out of warp to the time engineering was in the Marines hands had taken 4:47.56 seconds. Subduing the rest of the pirate crew would take another 7 minutes. In less than 30 minutes, the USS Jeanne D'Arc had captured 28 pirates, freed 15 prisoners, taken the Venture Sloop in tow, and discovered the location of the former USS Johnston and what remained of it's crew.

Soon the USS Crossfield would arrive and take charge of the Venture sloop, freeing NCC-1731 to continue it's mission.

The Arc was on it's way.
