Description Sailor Saturn cosplay boots which I made. They were an ugly old cream pair of leather boots which transformed into Senshi boots 3 days later XD


The photo makes them look a bit darker than what they are. This cost about $30 to make. WAYYYY better than buying those horrible pre-made PVC ones which are at least $80 online plus shipping... and you don't know whether they'll actually be comfy when you get them etc etc etc...

Wish the boots were a little higher though >__<

Hello! I'm so sorry for the late response!

I used Angelus leather paint. I bought it off someone on eBay. Did the same to make Harley Quinn shoes - be sure to purchase the finisher though! I personally like the matte finish better

Allow yourself up to a week to do this though... you need a LOT of layers! I used one bottle per boot to get a nice, clean finish. If you need any more help (application etc) please let me know

What material are they made out of? It'd be really difficult because you're going from black to a lighter colour.... but yeah just let me know what they're made out of and I may have an idea for you

lol, well I think that'll be a tough one to colour

...have you tried using Sharpies to completely cover the boots and then covering the final coat with shoe polish?

It works with PVC... not sure about pleather though >___<

Those are beautiful! What kind of dye did you use on them? Also, how did you add the laces? They look really nice, great job!

Thanks! I used a whole bottle of purple Anglus leather paint and put on a coat of finisher. The laces were tricky I bought the longest pair of white laces I could find and used a leather hole puncher to punch the holes in (plus I used craft scissors to cut the 'V' at the top of the boots). It took a really long time to figure out how to lace the boots up to make it look like how Saturn's boots really are. It finally hit me after like 20 mins that I needed to use each lace hole twice to get that criss cross effect. If you have a look at the pre-made Sailor Saturn boots, the laces are not tied correctly >__<

I was wearing them was posing for a shot for our photographer and her friend was holding my camera and was taking shots too so I just zoomed in to one of the pics she took

hehe my shoe collection is pretty much a mountain of different coloured Chucks, a pair of plain black 10cm heels, a pair of black Mary Janes, a black pair of boots and various cosplay shoes XD

I'm thinking of eventually doing cosplay leather shoe comissions actually and use that money for cosplay/anime stuff. Maybe once I've established myself
