Lucky for me I enjoy researching this stuff anyways~!
That and the Hetalia fandom needs more actual history these days...
But it does take time. I'm still working on the male version of this! Hopefully I can finish it up soon.

Wow, this is cute! I like your drawing style, it suits the characters so well! Which other countries are you going to cover?

I've been trying to figure out how to make the characters look like themselves while drawing them in much more historically accurate clothing (hair and makeup included), which tended to mean the main methods of identifying characters in Himaruya's art was kinda gone... So I'm happy to hear you say it worked out well!! (Granted, it helps to have the default outfit there)
Well, the plan is to do both the nyo and regular versions of the main cast (Axis & Allies), in no particular order. But considering how I tend to work, I may just jump to someone else randomly... I mean really, once I get the urge to draw a hanbok in my system I have to do it! And Polish clothes are so cute, and, and and...
At least once I start on a particular set I don't start another until I finish. Right now I'm thinking Japan or China as next in line (China might be easier tho, since the Nara period in Japan is rarely ever touched upon compared to other eras, so that's gonna take some research time).

Oh you made another one! This is really great as well. My favorite one that you drew is the Georgian one, you did an awesome job on the hair, & all the expressions are perfect. Personally, my favorite eras of English fashion are the 1560s-70s & the Edwardian era.

I want to at least get the main cast in nyo and regular forms. Well, that's the dream, anyways...
I'm more of a Neo-Classical/Regency person myself, but I really do love the Edwardian era too. (I mean look at those gorgeous hats! We need big hats to come back. Or even hats in general.) But the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries are pretty popular options when planning out these sets, and I want to limit myself to 8 outfits (the first and last already spoken for).

oh so cool!
that was a really good idea! I must agree that people have drawn incorrect outfits *coughcougheven myself* for time eras.
so this cold be a good reference.
are you going to do more characters?
the male versions?

Well, the biggest reason I give such detailed descriptions is for people who might want a bit more of a general understanding of the styles and logic behind those crazy fashion trends as well as noting personal decisions that I might have taken. It wasn't designed as a proper reference, per se, but if people want to draw or make these outfits, I'm totally cool with that. Or maybe use it as a starting point for figuring out proper outfits and clothing. I mostly want people to be more interested in clothes rather than just going with anime logic. (I'm like really into this okay! ) But clothes are a subtle way to really show off just about everything about the wearer - time, culture, society, morals, personal tastes, social class, events involved in, jobs, religion, subculture, art and aesthetics, heritage of the individual or their culture, etc. And this is still totally true today. I mean if you just say someone's "goth" versus "Harajuku goth" do you get a different sense of clothing? But that's my rambling again!
I plan to do both male and female versions, I just started randomly. Well, maybe not that randomly, since American and then English fashion history are the easiest for me to come in contact with. (I took like, 20 pictures of a civil war uniform at the history museum the other day). I want to do at least the main cast - axis and allies (in no real order). But who knows, I might just get the sudden urge to draw a hanbok or something and skip straight to Korea or whatever....
I'm bouncing between the research for China and Japan though. So one of those two is most likely next, unless I circle back and do the male versions.
But school's getting busier since I'm a teacher candidate this semester onward. And lesson plans are a pain in the ass to make.

Thanks! I probably would have started doing this sooner if I knew what style I was going with earlier.
