Description I'm getting tired of my marker lines style so I decided to try something different and without any lines. Ah.. yes, this guy also got slightly redesigned since last time you saw him over here. "Goly" as a new name, because my Spaniard peers cannot pronounce the previous form of his name.

...I really needed to update this place.

Character belongs to me.

Interesting character. I like the fact that it has a nice, strong silhouette.

Yes, you needed to update, I come here and there and find nothing neeeew.....

...and Gully for some reason, reminded me of a bird's name, so Goly is perfect, haha. It's funny because I just came back to old cell shading + lines, and paf, you delete yours xD Also, I don't know if you used Photoshop, it almost looks like it was hand drawn with markers or a software imitating hand drawn stuff. Either way, that's an interesting render there ! So animation-ish.

I can still use lines, it just felt like it was always the same on every piece. I needed to find a new style in which all the 2D artwork of my project would be rendered, this one seemed to be the most appropriate.

As for the software, it's MangaStudio 5 EX (or electronically known as ClipStudio), the secret that's been abducting hundreds of illustrators away from Photoshop; it's much cheaper, more oriented towards illustration, and keeps the same interface standard as Photoshop, so switching from one to the other is extremely easy and effortless. The brushes blending engine is so much better than the one found in PS (they can work just like them, or in ways seen in OpenCanvas or Sai); I really recommend it. It lacks of some filtering and layer effects, but that's where Photoshop wins as a photo editing software

Oh I'm sure you'll still use lines, I just thought it was a funny coincidence o/

I've heard a lot of good from MangaStudio (as for Sai). A few softwares seem to come out for illustration, cheaper, better, faster to use... such as Artrage, which is the one I use.
As for filtering, it's always the bad point : they rarely have filters. I know you can add some in Artrage but since I don't use filters anymore I didn't bother with it (plus it has the layers effects, the blurring, and colour adjustment, which is just fine with me).
