Description You know...I have art lying around in my room without knowing.

Origami roses. ^^ My art history teacher wants me to make a vase of flowers for her too. @-@

I bought a book on organic origami foldings from Epcot several years back. As you can see...I've already conquered these. Need to buy more books >_<.

...would someone pay for these o.o?

Step1: cut 5 sheets of paper to appropriate sizes.
Step2: fold.
Step3: insert pre-cut metal wire.
Step4: find a pretty container.

Time: 2 hours per rose. =__=''

Scrap book paper is a good medium!

There is book written by Toshikazu Kawasaki that you should check out. The book is titled, "Roses, Origmai, and Math".

In that book you can learn 2 different methods for folding a rose from a single square of paper. One method is the Rosebud, and the other method is the Kawasaki Rose, which is a fully bloomed rose.

I have a picture in my gallery of 2 dozen roses I folded.

I recommend "Origami Flowers" by Hiromi Hayashi. She shows one rose that is similar to what you've done here. She also shows a variety of more complex flowers.

Anyhow, good job on these.

Ah, I see. Thought the folds looked familiar. Have you tried any other of her designs? I've only really practiced Rose 3, carnations, tulips, blue stars, maybe one or two others. There are so many though! To get a good bouquet like she has, that's a major time investment. I've been meaning to sit down and do something really nice, like the zinnias. Actually, most of them are fairly simple once you understand the concepts but the trick is to make them look real, like adding stems, leaves, and arranging large numbers of flowers together. And the way she adds the bulbs is an awesome touch.

I tried making a 'realistic' pot of flowers, but I can't find paper that imitates leaves. They're either too stiff for so soft the glue bleeds through. >.< The floral tape is a sticky problem @-@.

The blue stars are really cute ^^. But the zinnias always give me a head ache x-x.. I'm terrible at cutting out the polygonal sheets. >__<''
