Sekimori: 関守 (Japanese). "Barrier keepers" or "Gatekeepers".

Sekimori are "Gatekeepers". Just like their name indicates, the Sekimori are guardians protecting shrines, holy places and sacred areas, buildings or even just objects and individuals from evil spirits. Their duty is to fight and defeat any evil spirit with ill intentions, yet since the latter are immortal, and can come back years later, to cause destruction and chaos once again, the Sekimori have the ability to seal the evil spirits within themselves.

Once a Sekimori has sealed an evil spirit inside their body, they have to wear a shimenawa (holy rope) that prevents the evil spirits from escaping the prison that is the Sekimori's body. The more evil spirits a Sekimori seals inside them, the more holy ropes (barriers) it has to wear. Same for the shide (the white zig-zag papers used for purifying evil spirit's negative energy), that increase in number whenever the spirit is a strong one. A mark-like tattoo appears on/or near the body part where the evil spirit is sealed.

The Gatekeepers have to be very careful though! If the barrier ever gets removed, the evil inside them possesses the Sekimori, which then turns into a Black Seki. Their overall appearance changes when that happens.

Adopt Info (Optional)
A young but talented Sekimori, that has a habit of making origami out of his purification paper. He has managed to seal two evil spirits so far: One on his left wrist, and a slightly powerful one on his neck. The one on his neck had the appearance of a centipede when the Sekimori met it and fought it. After being captured, and sealed on the neck of the Gatekeeper, a tattoo appeared, spanning along the Sekimori's spine. The evil spirit still influences its master, and appears from time to time on rainy days to pester him. Its appearance changed after being captured, and now looks like a TeruTeru Bozu doll, with a tail resembling both a spine and its original centipede form.
(the above info is optional. It's just something I used as a theme to make the creation progress more fun for me ´u` Feel free to discard it and create your own! Tattoo and demon can be removed after you acquire the PSD file.)

Personal comment   Aaah it's been a while since I last worked on an adopt ´7`I think I took this more personally haha I wanted to have fun YuY The little info is inspired by Halloween sobb I wanted to create something on the creepy-cute side, but since I realized I would miss uploading this on Halloween, I toned it down _(:3_)TL But still kept some minor things haha~ Anyway this was a lot of fun! I kept wanting to draw more extras haha ♥
