Description One of my first digital pieces using a cintiq a few years ago.
I was honestly pretty proud of myself for learning many tools with this piece.
It still remains as one of my favorites as it may have been my first time incorporating one of my characters into a college project.
But you will learn more about my original character Mira, depicted here, in the future with more art to come!

I love how you were able make everything not look copied and pasted, from the shape of the trees to the far background, the light's powerful reflection on the various shapes all around it. I really admire the reflections in the water, it isn't something I really know how to make.

Oh wow! Thank you so much for your comment! The reflection and ripples in the water was new to me when making this so I learned how to make it realistic. References help tremendously when creating something like this. Try experimenting with different effects in Photoshop like Gaussian blur and the smudge tool to see different ways these tools can be used to your advantage. I'd also recommend looking at videos of how things function or work in action and it helps with understanding how to create different types of effects, for this one I would look at videos and photos that contained ripples and reflections. It's mostly about familiarizing with tools and how they work.

You are very welcome! Definitely a learning process. I have used Photoshop and Gimp in the past to draw, but after my stylus quit on me I practically quit using Gimp and changed what I was using PS for. I mainly use the app Medibang Paint on my tablet to draw digitally these days. I do get what you mean about familiarizing one's self with the tools and using references. The next trick is remembering those details That's the tough part for me

As you begin to test out different types of programs, you get to realize what suits you best for your art. I wish you all the best with your art~
