art trade with ~ she wanted me to draw any character from Rozen Maiden
so i decided to draw Suigintou because i really liked
her design x3 (i've never seen or read Rozen maiden)

*Reads comment string below me* Well, since someone was having too much of a spaz-attack to clearly explain what Rozen Maiden is, I will instead. XD
Rozen Maiden is both an anime and a manga centered around the story of these things called Rozen Maidens, which are essentially "living dolls." The name comes from their creator, an immortal dollmaker whose name was Rozen (they all refer to him as father). There are seven 'sisters' in all. The one you drew here is the very first, Suigintou, and she is also the main villain in the first season XP She's really cool though.
Now the reason Rozen created these particular dolls is because he had this idea in his head of something called Alice. Alice is, in his mind, the perfect girl. The dolls are his attempt at creating Alice, but all seven attempts failed.
The dolls are able to move because they each have a 'soul', known as a Rosa Mystica. The story goes that if one doll is to collect all seven Rosa Mysticas, she will become Alice, and be in the favor of Rozen. So these dolls are always fighting with one another, basically trying to kill each other (when a Rozen Maiden loses her Rosa Mystica, she becomes just like an ordinary doll).
And there's the series for ya. XD
The anime has two seasons and a small side story that takes place first, chronologically, and then production stopped with no real resolution. The manga went on for far longer, however, and it also eventually stopped. It was then continued in a weekly magazine called Young Jump, and episodes are still being published even now

It's more of a horror anime than a sweet anime like shugo chara

i am a huge peach-pit fan(just to clarify this before i say anything wrong..) i think that the anime is better than the original to be honest. it made the whole theme stand out much better:3 you should watch itX)

for me, the manga sums up everything really well, the anime seems to drag it a bit and somtimes off topic. but i really like it in general, i would watch it again if i can^^
