Aghhhh this was fun but it seemed to take FOREVER. D8 I worked extra hard on it for two reasons:
- Because It's soooo late, I wanted to make it extra good X)
- Shivita's 18th birthday is soon! :3

I love that shading, how the shade of the tree is blending with her and she looks so calm, like "I'm enjoying purrrrrrrrr" =3 ~<333

Wow this is really good! Only thing I see a bit off about it is her hanging leg, looks a bit to long. Other than that it is quite beautiful ♥

what presets in gimp did you use for this piece? It looks great <3

Most of the lineart was the path tool at 2.0px, and some was done with the pen tool at 0.5.
shaded mostly with that soft fading brush tool thingy X33 All the leaves were just done with ink at various opacities then I used the smudge tool. Branches were all gaussian-blurred at about 0.4. After I'd finished the whole thing reduced it by half to make it look smoother C:

This is an exceptionally beautiful character that you drew amazingly! :3 I love the background and the detail on the tree, I love the lighting as usual, and I love her adorable expression. ^o^ I actually think I can offer one thing ... I believe the leg is too long, but I tried picturing her other side dangling more, and maybe it's not that the leg is too long, but the paw is ... yeah, I think that's it. The point at which the paw bends should be a little bit shorter, and that might be why it looks too long altogether. But yes, otherwise, this is an extremely gorgeous picture and Shivita will adore it!

Yeah, when I was drawing it I felt exactly the same - like the leg was too long, but then if I pictured the body behind the tree it actually was the right length X)) So I left it. I think perhaps you're right about the paw though :] Thanks!!

This is so lovely Jem I really love the colouring and the tree looks awesome. I only have 2 critiques here first one is the face. It doesn't seem to lion like to me at all, maybe because the face isn't to defined? Maybe you add some whiskers or fix the muzzle a bit. Now the next critic is the leg that is hanging. In my opinion it looks to long like if it un-hinged from her body? What I would do first is draw out the lioness first and see how the body looks without the tree shes hanging from. Then once you have the sketch of her done add the tree and erase the lines where her legs would be hidden behind the branches that way you dont mess up on the anatomy. Overall its a lovely piece and something very whimsical.
