Another picture! It took forever!But I'm happy it came out well. ;v; There are some mistakes though... ;A; I used a couple references from tumblr to make the cage (since I'm horrible at making objects) and the trees in the background. And textures galore~ *dies*
Anyways, I hope you all like it! >v<

One of the biggest things I realized when learning to draw was to never half-ass anything.
You have a great vision and it's quite original. The colors have been chosen very well. But you stinted on details. Details save a piece! Never rely on cheap tricks like dodge tool and fuzzy lines. Never rely purely on nice patterns. What I see here is an idea that has yet to reach past a rough draft.
Of course, your style is your own. I can't tell you to change your style. However, I want to ask you if you thought "flowers are too hard. I'll just draw them like that" or bushes are too hard, I'll just give it the semblance of a shape," or "shading all of the pearls take too long, so I'll just do it sort of like this."
Even if something looks bad, if it's filled with detail, the details themselves, put together, somehow makes it look good. That was what I realized when I started going digital. Even if the anatomy was wrong. Even if the coloring was bad, if I put a great deal of detail into it, the picture will convey that.

Also, good job on getting the shading on the fairy's torso correctly. That's a tricky one, but you got it.

Thanks for the critique! And, I agree, the torso I had to work at a few times, because it was very tricky. Especially without a referenceβ¦
As for the rest of the picture, to be honest, I wasn't quite sure where to start with making all of the flowers and bushes to have a watercolor look to it and still look detailed. So I guess I got a little intimidated, is my problem. I noticed it happens a lot when I try to add detail to something. OTL
And a good part of it was laziness and a cramping hand, I'll admit to that. Though I've also noticed I'll get caught up in drawing something and I'll forget to work on details when I work digitally. Like, I know it's there, however, I thought I worked on it, only to find out after posting it that I completely forgot that area. =/
I think another thing I need to get into the habit of is taking breaks so I can sit back and look at the picture to figure out what I need to to and what else I could do. And to see what I've missed. Definitely that.Β
But I would love to be able to know any tips and tricks I could learn for flowers and bushes. ;v; That would be great, seeing as I just kind of freeze up and get lost on what to do. I'll be sure to PM you. Thanks again for the critique! Maybe once I learn your secrets, I'll go back and fix it. ='D

TBH, you just need to draw about five or six really nice, detailed. Then you copy and paste the rest in various sizes and at different rotations, then change the darkness and clarity on them. No one can tell the difference. o uo
