I like the modernized version alot better. One thing I like about this one too is the position of the feet. This to me looks very natural.

Yeah, I hear ya. Nobody wants someone to rip off their stuff. There is one thing that you can reveal without too much worry, and that's the character's name. Otherwise it looks good and I can't wait to see the others.
