alt.: the boy with red handsI'm not sure why I spent so much time on this since I'm not really happy with the result. :/ I almost like the simple cellshaded one I started off with better. (link ) It feels like I stepped back in time to an ugly thick lineart and gratuitous textures phase, except that I don't remember having that phase because I never practiced lineart that much.
It's also full of the kind of stuff I would draw (anime boy headshot with masks and jewels and bloody goodness styled like a poker card 8D) but doesn't remind me of my own style at all, haha.
I'm in love with the close-up crop I made though.

ahah well yeh lineart is sth rly annoying for everyone i quess xd
but it's not so bad as u see it, i have to say it's pretty good even tho u don't rly practice it
and yeh the style is a bit different than how u usually draw BUT it's still awesome :3
anyway about the picture... it looks good, i love the way u colored him and sadsfdsf
the way he look is just so... badass?xD idk but it's good:3

Hehe, I think it would be cooler if he was doing something more interesting but thank you very much! I don't like lining on the computer because of how long it takes, but I'm glad that it looks relatively neat here at least. c:

Sometimes I start colouring before doing lineart because it's so tedious...but I really should learn/practice it more, haha.

Thank you! I notice it too, it seems somewhat duller than my usual colour schemes. Dx I spent a lot more time on the line work and painted mostly in photoshop instead of sai so I could experiment with texture brushes, but I don't really like the result. :/ It was definitely useful for experimenting though!
