So, the Chaos Emeralds maybe give mainstream-(or at least Archie)-Super Sonic a little boost when powering down, but the Crystals give Boomverse-Chaotic Sonic a massive power drain to the point of fatigue or even unconsciousness. And on a more arguable note, the color(s) most strongly attributed to the Emeralds (green and maybe yellow) seem to contrast with the Crystals' (violet and pink). Interesting...

I find it funny how in two of the panels the fingers are gloved when Sonics had these weird crystal fingers all transformation. But then, on the last panel it shows him with the fingers again.
