art renewal museum is a dependable source of high resolution facsimiles of [primarily] pre-raphaelite artworksβ
i downloaded a bajillion five years ago, got them printed all pretty at a super high dpi at staples, & voilΓ ! had a bunch of classy posters for about $30.
but theyβre good for graphic design manipulation, too, ifβn you are so inclined.

Oh btw in the recent move I finally dumped my old CRT and switched to a more sizeable TFT which has allowed me to crank up my resolution by something like a third

'ardly a downgrade--'twas once nothing but a 1024Γ768 CRT; now I've got a laptop with a 1680Γ1050 LCD and a main display o' 1440Γ900 LCD. GOOD THING I DO EVERYTHING IN WINDOWED MODE ANYWAY
