one of the sketch blogs i contribute to has for its theme this week "When I waS 17"...So when I was 17, I met a girl named Lisa. Lisa was my first real girlfriend. we broke up and got back together what seems like a hundred times. We really loved each other I think, but we just didn't have enough in common.
now, 20 years later Lisa and I are still friends. We are both married (thank God, not to each other
), but we run into each other sometimes. There's always lots of funny stories to tell when we do...

the angle on the guy's head is really successful, i always have trouble with that (and any kind of upward angle, too) in my own work. the girl is awesome!!

I actually think the drawing is pretty problematic, but even a broken clock is right twice a day! I really like it though. I have always found it easy to accept the imperfection in my drawings if they have a good soul.
it made art school tough, though!
all that said, i'm glad you like it! your comment is helpful. I think you set a pretty high bar for yourself in your work. your comics don't show any signs of anxiety... smooth like butter!

i think the only thing i'd call attention to is that the girl's arm seems a little short, but it's minor, i think the whole piece is killer even if you don't think so. i know how that is, though, with my own work.

don't get me wrong! I think it's awesome! I geek on my own stuff as much as anyone else (probably more... drawing has always been my #1 form of entertainment since i was a wee lad). but i'm not so high on my own supply that I don't see where I can improve.
the imperfections are a trade-off for freshness... i don't like to wrestle with a drawing too much and lose the magic. I just look at the flaws as notes to improve for the next drawing.

you can do it... you just gotta relax and let it happen. I can always see flaws in the figures, but I don't let it bother me. I just take note and improve on it next time.
